Mahendra Fabricators

It is usually quite loud here on Kerani Road with the sounds of metal hitting metal and the welding machines going all day. We are located in Andheri East, right on Anand Road and if you look across from us, you will see the Faizan Hotel which is where most of us grab a quick bite when things get busy. Mahendra Fabricators has been in this spot for a while now. Most days start early because the heat in the workshop gets a bit much by the afternoon, so we try to get the heavy cutting done before the sun is directly overhead. There is always dust from the grinding and the smell of burnt metal in the air, but that is just how it is in this line of work. People stop by to ask about gates or window grills or whatever they need fixing at their house. Sometimes the traffic on Anand Road makes it hard to move the bigger pieces of iron out of the shop, but we manage. It is not a fancy place, just a regular workshop with tools scattered around and a floor that never stays clean for more than five minutes. We just get on with the jobs as they come in. Sometimes the power goes out and everything stops, which gives us a chance to sit outside for a minute. Then it comes back on and the noise starts up again immediately.
