Mahanagar Tea

You can find Mahanagar Tea at A/25 in the Purba Building, which is part of Purubai Wadi on J V Road. We are inside the Laxmi Shopping Center, right across from the Neo Welcome Hotel in Ghatkopar West. It’s a lively little area with a lot of small shops packed together. Our place is mainly filled with sacks and containers of tea. The smell of dried tea leaves is quite strong as soon as you step inside, which we actually quite like. It’s not a massive space. Most of it is used for storing the tea and weighing it out for people who come in. We have a simple counter where we deal with our visitors. The Laxmi Shopping Center stays busy with locals doing their daily shopping, so there is always a lot of chatter and movement around us. We’ve been here for a while and have seen the neighborhood change, but the hotel across the street has been a steady landmark. We don't have any fancy displays or marketing posters on the walls. It’s just a place to buy tea. We spend our days measuring out portions and chatting with the regulars who have been coming to us for years. Sometimes the delivery carts block the path, but everyone just works around it. It’s a small, local operation, and we just take things one day at a time without much complication.
