M S The Indian Smelting Refining Co Ltd is based in Virar West at B/401, Yashwant Swapna Chs. Being on Viva College Road means there is always a lot of activity outside with students and local traffic moving toward the station. We are up on the fourth floor of the residential society, which might seem a bit different for a company with a name like ours, but it works for what we do here. The building is a typical Co-operative Housing Society, so we see our neighbors every day when we come in. It is a long way from the main industrial hubs of the city, but Virar has its own pace. We handle the administrative side of things from this office. Sometimes the elevators are a bit slow, or the rain makes the commute a bit of a struggle, but that is just life on the outskirts. We have got our files and our desks set up in the rooms. It is not a massive factory floor here; it is more about the management and the paperwork side of the smelting and refining business. We stay busy with the phone and the computer work. People in the building know us as the office on the fourth floor. We do not have a big lobby or anything like that. It is just a practical space where the work gets done and we head home at the end of the day.
