M K Battery

Our shop, M K Battery, is located right on Lbs Marg over on Clarke Road. If you look across the street, you’ll see the Water Workshop, so we are pretty easy to spot if you’re looking for us. It’s a bit of a gritty area with a lot of industrial stuff going on, which suits us just fine. We spend most of our time surrounded by heavy batteries and chargers. It’s not the cleanest job in the world, your hands usually end up a bit dirty by lunch, but someone has to do it. We handle batteries for cars, bikes, and those big inverters people keep in their homes for when the power goes out. The road outside is always loud with trucks passing by. We keep a lot of stock on the shelves because you never know what kind of battery someone is going to need. Sometimes people bring in old batteries that are completely dead and we have to see if there’s any life left in them. Mostly they just need a replacement. It’s a straightforward business. We don't have a big showroom or anything, just a counter and a lot of heavy lifting. My back feels it sometimes at the end of the day. But we like being here on Clarke Road, it’s a good community and we know the other shop owners around the workshop pretty well. We just take things one day at a time.
