Lunettes Eyewear Studio

Our shop is in the Rukhi Mahal Building, which is part of the Chirag Industrial Estate in Colaba. It’s an interesting spot because you wouldn't necessarily expect an eyewear studio in an industrial estate, but it works for us. Lunettes is where we spend our time fitting lenses and helping people pick out frames that don't look ridiculous. The building is older, so it has that specific smell of old Mumbai. We have a few display cases and a chair for eye checks. It’s not a high-end boutique with bright lights and mirrors everywhere. It’s more of a practical place. We get people from the offices nearby and some residents who have lived in Colaba forever. Sometimes the light in here isn't the best, so we have to step near the window to see the true color of a frame. Colaba is always busy with tourists and local traffic, so there’s always something to see outside. We keep things pretty relaxed. If you need your glasses tightened or a nose pad replaced, we just do it. It’s mostly just about making sure people can see properly. We don't have a big marketing budget, so we just rely on people telling their friends about us. It’s been our home for a while now and we like the vibe of the estate. We also enjoy the old snacks they sell downstairs. It’s a good little community of workers and small shop owners here in Colaba.
