Lancer Steel Industries

We are situated at 2nd Carpenter Street in Muljibhai Nivas. It is one of those old Mumbai neighborhoods where the streets are narrow and everything is packed together. Finding parking for a truck around here is almost impossible, but we’ve managed to stay in this spot for years. Lancer Steel Industries is basically a warehouse and a small office combined into one. We have racks of steel rods and sheets stacked up to the ceiling. It’s always a bit dark inside until we pull the shutters all the way up in the morning. The noise from the street comes right in, along with the dust. We spend our time cutting steel to size for customers who come in from the local markets. It’s a lot of lifting and measuring. We don't have any fancy displays or a showroom. If you want to see what we have, you just walk into the back and look at the stacks yourself. Most of our customers are regulars who have been buying from us for decades. We know their names and what they usually need. We handle the paperwork on an old wooden desk that’s been here since the company started. It’s a simple operation, really. We buy the steel, we stock it, we cut it, and we sell it. There isn't much more to it than that, and we like it that way.
