Lalit Jewellers Steel Emporium

We are located at Shop No 5 in Kolsa Chawl, over in Ghatkopar East. The place is called Lalit Jewellers Steel Emporium. It is a bit of an unusual mix, dealing with both jewellery and steel items, but it works for us and the people around Javahar. The shop is not very large, so we have to use every bit of space on the walls and in the glass cases. Ghatkopar East is always moving, and Kolsa Chawl has its own rhythm. We get people coming in for small repairs or looking for something specific for their kitchen. It is a hands-on kind of business. I spend a lot of time cleaning the glass and making sure the steel looks bright. We do not have fancy lights or a big showroom. It is just a straightforward shop where we talk to our customers face-to-face. Sometimes it gets loud outside with the street noise, but inside we just focus on the task at hand. We have been in this spot for a while now, and everyone in the chawl knows where we are. Dealing with metal, whether it is gold or steel, requires a bit of patience and attention to detail. We are not trying to be the biggest shop in the city. We just want to do right by the people who walk through the door here in Ghatkopar. It is a simple life running a shop.
