Lakshmi Industrial Premises Co Operative Society Ltd

Our office is on the ground floor, right at the start of the building in Lower Parel. Being a co-operative society, we spend a lot of our time dealing with the day-to-day things that happen in an industrial estate. There are always pipes needing repair or some paperwork for the members that needs sorting out. It's not a very quiet place, given all the activity around Antop Hill and the rest of the neighborhood. We have been sitting in Office No 1 for quite a while now. The building has seen many changes over the years. Some units close down, new ones open up, and we are here to keep track of the maintenance and the common areas. Sometimes the lift acts up or there is a water issue, and then the phone doesn't stop ringing. It is a lot of coordination with the security guys and the cleaners. We don't have a big team, just a few of us making sure things don't fall apart. Most of the people working in the different units know us by name. We handle the bills and the meetings that happen once in a while. It can get a bit stressful when multiple things break at once, but we just take it one task at a time. It’s a busy environment with trucks coming and going all day long. We just try to keep the building running as smoothly as we can for everyone here.
