You can find us at Shop No 6 in the White House building on S V Roa in Andheri West. We are quite close to the Andheri Market, so it is always loud and crowded around here. Inside the shop, it’s a different world, just rolls and rolls of fabric stacked up to the ceiling. We have all sorts of materials, and the shelves are usually a bit of a mess because people are always pulling things out to look at the colors. We don’t have a fancy showroom with mannequins or bright lights. It’s just a regular cloth shop where we measure things out with a wooden meter rule and snip them with big heavy scissors. Sometimes the dust from the fabrics makes us sneeze, but that’s just part of the job. We’ve been on S V Roa for a long time and have seen shops around us come and go. People come in looking for something specific for a dress or a shirt, and we help them find it. We don’t do any big sales pitches. If the fabric is good, it shows. The building, White House, is an old landmark here, and being near the market helps because people are already out shopping for their homes. It’s a simple business, really. We buy fabric, we sell fabric, and we try to make sure we don't mix up the orders. It’s a bit dusty, a bit crowded, but it’s our life. We enjoy seeing the different patterns that come in every season.
