Krishna Steel

If you know the Masjid area at all, you know how tight the streets can get. Our place is in Kapadia Chambers on K M Sharma Marg, and it’s a lot of work just getting through the crowd some days. Krishna Steel has been operating out of this spot for a long time. It’s an old building, and you can feel the history in the walls and the dusty staircases. We deal with steel, so there is always a lot of heavy lifting and the sound of metal clanging against the floor. It’s not the cleanest job in the world, and your hands usually end up black by the end of the shift. The market outside is always moving, with trucks trying to squeeze through and people shouting to get past. We don't have a big fancy showroom or anything like that. It’s just a workspace with stacks of material and a small desk where we keep the books. Sometimes the dust from the road gets to be a bit much, so we keep a fan going all day to stay cool. People come to us because they know where we are and they know we've been here for years. We don't do much in the way of advertising, we just show up, do the work, and go home when the sun goes down. It’s a tough environment but it’s what we know and we are used to the noise. We keep going until the work is finished.
