We are tucked away in the Regalia building here on Shiv Vallabh Road in Borivali East. If you know the Ashok Van area, you know how busy it gets during the morning rush. Our office is at A304, and most days it’s just a lot of us sitting at our desks with the windows shut to keep out some of the Mumbai humidity. It is a practical space where Kotak Securities spends a lot of time looking at numbers and helping people with their trading accounts. There is nothing very fancy about it. We have a few chairs for visitors and the usual office stuff like printers that occasionally jam and computers that take their time to start up. Outside, the street is always full of people going to work or school. Sometimes we get a bit of a breeze from the trees around Ashok Van, but usually, it is just the sound of traffic. We have been in this spot for a while now, and the locals know where to find us if they need to sort out their shares or just ask about some paperwork. It gets quite hectic when the markets open in the morning, and everyone is trying to do three things at once. By the afternoon, things usually settle down a bit, and we can catch our breath. We just focus on getting the work done properly so people don’t have to worry about their documents or their money stuff too much.
