Konvekta Refrigeration India Pvt. Ltd. is based at D-236B in the Ansa Industrial Estate. If you know the Saki Vihar Road area near Saki Naka in Andheri (E), you know it’s a tight spot with lots of trucks and small factories squeezed together. Our unit is tucked away in there. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, especially when we are moving the cooling units around. There is always the smell of metal and maybe some oil from the machines. We deal with refrigeration stuff every single day, so there are parts and components scattered around the workshop area. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes when a big shipment arrives. The staff here mostly just wears regular clothes, nothing like those stiff uniforms you see in brochures. We talk about the cricket scores while we work. The office part is just a small corner with some old files and a computer that’s seen better days. It’s not the kind of place you’d come for a tour, but it’s where the actual repairs and assembly happen. People know us in the estate because we’ve been here a good while. Traffic on Saki Vihar Road is a nightmare, so we usually try to get our deliveries out early or very late. It’s just the reality of doing business in this part of Mumbai. There isn't much more to it than showing up and fixing things.
