Finding Plot No 8 in the Malwani Colony can be a bit tricky if you don't know that you have to look for Gate No 7 first. This part of Malad West is always packed with people moving about, and Konnur English Medium Pre-Primary Primary & High School sits right in the thick of it all. The NCC area nearby is a good landmark for people trying to find us for the first time. Our school building is not the newest on the block, but it serves its purpose for the many families living around here. Inside, the hallways are narrow and you can often hear the teachers reciting alphabets or math tables with the younger children. We have a lot of different classes going on at once, from the little ones in pre-primary all the way up to the high school students. It gets quite loud during the break times when everyone spills out into the common areas. The walls have some marks on them from years of kids running past, and the wooden benches have been sat on by hundreds of students. We don't have any polished marble floors or air conditioning, just regular ceiling fans that hum all day long. The staff usually brings lunch from home and we eat together in the small office room when there is a spare moment. It is a very normal, local school life for everyone involved. We just open the gates every morning and do our jobs until the sun starts to go down.
