Kongu Kalvi Nilayam Matriculation Higher Secondary School

This school is located in Shop Number G 7 in Gautam Nagar, which is right in the MIDC area of Andheri East. It is a bit of an industrial neighborhood so there are a lot of warehouses and offices around us. The road is always full of trucks and delivery vans throughout the day. Our space is not very large since it is essentially a shop unit that we converted for the school. We have the higher secondary students coming in and we try to make the most of the rooms we have. It gets quite warm in the afternoons because of all the concrete around here, but the fans help a bit. The students come from the nearby chawls and apartment buildings. We do not have a big playground, so the kids mostly stay indoors or just stand outside the gate during their breaks. It is a very hardworking environment and everyone just focuses on their studies. The office is just a small corner with a wooden table where we keep the registers. We have been here for some time now and the people in Gautam Nagar know us as the local matriculation school. It is not fancy but it serves the community in this part of Mumbai. Sometimes the Central Road gets blocked with traffic and it takes a while for everyone to get home, but that is just how things are in Andheri.
