Kodagu Model School

Kodagu Model School sits at 6 Siddheshwar Chawl on Golibar Road. If you know Ghatkopar West, you know this area is quite packed with houses and small businesses. The school is right in the middle of it all. It’s not a large building, just a few rooms where we hold classes for the local children. We’ve been here for quite some time, and the building shows its age in places, but it serves the purpose. Every morning, the narrow lane outside gets busy with kids walking to school. We have the usual desks and blackboards. The teachers are local people who understand the neighborhood well. It’s a modest setup where the focus is simply on getting the kids through their lessons every day. We don't have a big playground or a fancy computer lab. The children play in the small open spaces we have or out in the lane after school is over. It’s a very grounded place. Parents from the chawls nearby trust us because we’ve been part of the community for so long. We handle the daily routine of teaching, marking papers, and keeping order. It’s a lot of work, but it’s what we do here on Golibar Road. It is just a regular school trying to provide a decent education to the kids in this corner of Mumbai without any pretense or extra polish.
