Klg Public School

We’ve been running Klg Public School for quite a while now from this small spot in Babu Tambe Chawl. If you know Road No 1 in Vikhroli West, you’ve probably walked right past us without thinking much of it. It isn't a massive campus with fancy gates, just Shop No 1 where we get things done every day. Most of the kids live right around here in the neighborhood, so we see the same faces every morning when the bell rings and the gates open. It gets a bit noisy sometimes with the traffic and people moving about the chawl, but that is just how life is in this part of Mumbai. We started this place because there was a need for a school that parents could actually reach without taking three buses. The rooms are simple and we don't have a lot of extra space for things that don't matter much. We just focus on the lessons and making sure everyone shows up on time for their classes. You can find us easily enough if you ask anyone near the main road for directions. The building has seen many rainy seasons and the walls could probably use some fresh paint, but the desks are sturdy and the teachers know every student by their first name. It's a local thing, really. We don’t try to be like those big international schools you see on TV. We just open the shutters, sweep the floors, and start the day with whatever we have. It works for us.
