Keshar Forge

Keshar Forge is over in the 3rd Kumbharwada area. If you know Mumbai, you know this part of the city is always busy with metalwork and small shops. We operate out of the Ganjawala Building on Dr. M.G. Mahimtura Marg. It's a tight spot, numbered 160/162, but we make it work. Most days it is just a lot of noise and heat from the forging process. People come by for different metal parts they need for their projects. We have been in this building for quite a while now. It’s not fancy or anything like those new offices you see in the suburbs. There’s soot on the walls and the floor is usually covered in metal shavings. We just get the work done. The street outside is usually crowded with handcarts and trucks trying to move materials through the narrow lanes. Sometimes it takes forever just to get a delivery in or out. But that’s just how life is in this neighborhood. We open up early and stay until the work for the day is finished. Most of our neighbors do the same thing. It is a community of people who work with their hands. We don’t spend much time on the computer or making things look pretty. If someone walks in looking for something made at Keshar Forge, we show them what we have on the racks. It is straightforward and we like it that way. It's just how we do business here.
