Kendriya Vidyalaya, Bhandup

Kendriya Vidyalaya, Bhandup is located within the Nch Colony in Kanjurmarg West. Being inside a colony means we are surrounded by a lot of government housing and mature trees, which makes the air feel a bit different than the main road. The school is a typical KV building, sturdy and painted in that familiar way. We have been serving the families of government employees and the local community for quite some time now. The walk from the main gate of the colony to the school entrance is something the kids do every day, rain or shine. Our classrooms are basic, with the standard desks and large windows to let in the breeze. There is a lot of open space around the building where the children play during their breaks. It’s not uncommon to see a few stray dogs sleeping near the gate or birds nesting in the eaves of the roof. The staff here is mostly long-term; we have people who have been teaching in the KV system for decades. We don't really do anything fancy when it comes to decor or marketing. We just follow the central board rules and get on with the business of teaching. It’s a very practical, no-nonsense kind of place. We value the routine of the morning assembly and the steady pace of the academic year, from the first day of term to the final exams. It’s just about doing the work.
