Kekin Steel

You can find Kekin Steel over at A K Chambers on the first floor. We are situated right opposite the SBI in Samuel Estate, which is part of the Masjid Bunder area. If you know this part of the city, you know how hectic it gets. There are people and carts everywhere, and the noise is something else. Our office and storage space are a bit cramped because we try to keep as much stock as we can in this location. Carrying things up to the first floor is a workout, but we are used to it by now. The air smells like iron and dust most of the time. We don't have any air conditioning, just some old ceiling fans that do their best to keep us cool. We spend our days writing out orders and checking our supplies. A lot of our business is done with people we’ve known for a long time. It’s a very traditional way of working, with lots of handwritten notes and face-to-face talk. We don't have a website or anything like that because we don't really need one. People know where to find us in Samuel Estate. The building is old and has a lot of character, even if it’s a bit run down in places. We just focus on getting the steel out to where it’s needed. It’s a tough environment, but it suits us just fine.
