Kashish Metal

We are based in Building No 59 on Kalbadevi Road, very close to Princess Street. If you have ever been to this part of Mumbai, you know how crowded it gets. The traffic is constant and the noise never really stops. We deal with various metals here. Our space is in an old building with high ceilings and narrow stairs. Moving heavy metal sheets or rods in and out is always a challenge, especially when the street is packed with carts and delivery vans. We have to time our shipments for early morning or late at night sometimes. The air inside the shop always smells a bit like iron. We don't have a showroom. It’s more like a warehouse where we stack everything up. We deal with a lot of regular buyers who have been coming to us for years. They know the routine. We sit at a small wooden desk near the entrance to handle the paperwork. Sometimes it gets so busy that we don't even have time to eat lunch until four in the afternoon. The walls are stained from years of handling metal, and the floor is scarred from all the heavy crates. It is a tough environment, but we are used to it. We don't bother with fancy decorations because they would just get ruined. We just focus on getting the metal moved and keeping the records straight in our books.
