Kamla Tea House

This tea house is tucked away in the 2nd Block over here in Bandra East. It’s right on 3rd Cross in Sudhamanagar, which is a place that never really sleeps. We spend most of our time standing by the stove, watching the water boil and mixing in the tea leaves. It’s a small shop, and sometimes it gets a bit cramped when too many people come in at once. There’s always the sound of cups clinking and people talking about their day. We don’t have any fancy furniture or decorations, just the basics to keep things going. The neighborhood around here is pretty tight-knit, so we know most of the people who walk through the door. Some days the humidity makes everything feel heavy, but the tea still sells. We go through a lot of milk and sugar every week. It’s hard work being on your feet all day, but it’s what we do. We don’t try to be anything we aren’t. We just open up, brew the tea, and stay until the sun goes down. The street outside is always full of kids playing or people rushing to the station. It’s noisy and messy sometimes, but Sudhamanagar has its own rhythm. We’re just glad to have a spot here where we can serve a hot drink to anyone who feels like stopping by for a few minutes. It is a humble living but it keeps us busy and connected to the street.
