Kalash Steel

Kalash Steel is based at 1, C Khetwadi in the Haji Allarakha Building. Working in the steel business in an area like Khetwadi is always an experience because it is one of the most crowded and active parts of the city. Our space is in an older building and it is filled with the smell of metal and the sound of heavy things being moved around. We deal with all kinds of steel products and the office is usually a bit dusty because of all the activity. It’s not the kind of place where you would find plush carpets or quiet corridors. Instead, there are usually trucks trying to navigate the narrow streets outside and guys loading up metal sheets or rods. We have been here for a long time and the Haji Allarakha Building has a lot of history to it. We know most of the other traders around here and we just get on with our daily business of buying and selling steel. It is physical, dirty work sometimes, but that is the nature of the industry. We spend our days on the phone or talking to people who walk in looking for specific materials. It is a very traditional way of doing business and we don't see any reason to change it. We just focus on keeping the stock moving and making sure we have what people need.
