We are based at No. 64/ 1 in Kala Chowki. It is an area with a lot of history and you can still feel that industrial vibe when you walk around the streets. Our space at D. P. Overseas isn't very large, but we make it work. It is mostly just a few desks, some filing cabinets, and a lot of energy. We’ve been here for several years and have seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. There’s a tea stall just around the corner that we visit almost every day. The work we do is pretty straightforward. We coordinate shipments going overseas and make sure all the local permits are in order. It involves a lot of back-and-forth with different departments. Some days are slow and we just sit around talking about the news, but other days we are running around until late at night. We don't use any corporate jargon or have long meetings about goals. We just look at what needs to be shipped and we find a way to get it done. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, and the ceiling fan rattles a bit, but it’s our place. It feels honest and real. We like the grit of Kala Chowki. It reminds us that work is about more than just sitting in a nice chair; it’s about getting things moving. We usually close up around six or seven in the evening.
