We’ve been at 2 Cannon Road for a good while now. It’s right near the Shivsena Office in Palodia, so most people know where we are. Our shop is where the noise happens. Most days start early with the cutters and the benders. It’s hot work, especially in the afternoons. We handle a lot of different pieces of sheet metal, some big and some small. We don't have a fancy office or anything like that. It’s just us and the machines and the stacks of metal sheets waiting to be worked on. Sometimes the traffic on the way to Gandhinagar via Thalatej gets backed up, but we’re usually here by then anyway. We just get on with the jobs people bring in. It's dusty and loud but that’s how a metal shop is. People stop by when they need something made or fixed. We don’t spend much time on the computer or writing things down unless it's an order. Usually, you’ll find one of us with a tool in hand. It’s a bit of a squeeze when we have a lot of materials delivered, but we make it work. The neighbors know the sound of our shop by heart. It’s just how we earn our living here in Gandhinagar. Nothing fancy, just metal work every day. We try to keep things moving and get the orders out as they come. It’s a basic life, but it’s what we know.
