Our office is in room 210 of the Kalyandas Udyog Bhavan, which is right near Century Bazaar in Prabhadevi. If you are familiar with this part of Mumbai, you know it’s a mix of old industrial buildings and new high-rises. Our building is one of the older ones. The elevator is sometimes temperamental, so we often just take the stairs to the second floor. Inside, it’s a typical metal industry office. We have samples of various parts on the shelves and folders stacked high. It is not a very large space, but we have managed to fit everyone in. The windows look out towards the street, and you can hear the traffic and the vendors down at Century Bazaar. We get a lot of people dropping in for quick meetings or to pick up samples. We don't have a big reception area; you just walk in and talk to whoever is closest to the door. We have been operating Jyoti (India) Metal Ind. from here for quite a while. Most of us live nearby or take the local train. It is a convenient spot despite the congestion. We keep things simple and don't bother with corporate talk. We just handle the orders and make sure the production at the factory is on track. It is a busy, cramped, and lively place to work. We wouldn't want to be anywhere else because we know the neighborhood so well.
