Joshi Steel Corporation

Our place is over at unit 36 in the Damji Shamji Industrial Complex. If you know Andheri East, you know how the traffic gets on Mahakali Caves Road. It is a bit of a mess sometimes. We’ve been operating Joshi Steel Corporation from here for a while. The building itself is just a standard industrial block. Inside, we have stacks of steel and a lot of paperwork. It’s not a fancy office with air conditioning that actually works all the time. Mostly, we are just moving things around or talking to people on the phone about their orders. The walls are a bit dusty and the floor is concrete. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know where everything is. In the mornings, it is usually quiet until the first trucks start arriving. Then it gets noisy. We take our tea breaks at the stall downstairs. It’s a basic life. We handle the steel, we load the trucks, and we go home. Nothing too complicated about it. Sometimes the rain makes it hard to get things in and out, but we manage. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to get through the day's list of tasks. That is pretty much how things go here at Damji Shamji. We know the neighbors and they know us. It’s just a regular Mumbai business.
