New Link Road is where we are based. It’s a very long road and we’re somewhere in the middle of it. Jobs 2 Corporates Manpower Services is the name written on the lease. We just call it the office though. It’s a bit of a trek to get here if you don’t have a bike or a car. The buses are always completely full. We have a few desks and some very old computers. They take a long time to start up in the morning. We usually have our first cup of tea while we wait for the screens to turn on. It’s a bit of a ritual for us now. We talk to a lot of different people every day. Some are happy and some are very worried about their future. We just listen and try to help with all the paperwork. It’s a lot of forms and signatures. We don’t have a fancy lobby for people to wait in. There’s just a wooden bench for them to sit on. We don’t use a lot of big corporate talk. We just speak plainly to everyone. It saves a lot of time and confusion. The windows look out onto the main road. You can see the traffic jam starting every single afternoon. We don’t have an HR department or a PR team. It’s just us doing the work. We’ve been doing this for years. It is steady.
