Jiva Kuka & Co.

Our place is located at 54, Shamaldas Gandhi Marg. It’s an old area and the building has a lot of character, which is a polite way of saying it’s quite aged. We have been here at Jiva Kuka & Co. for more years than I can easily count. The street outside is always packed with people and carts moving goods back and forth. It can get pretty chaotic, especially in the afternoons when everyone is trying to get things done at once. Inside our office, it’s mostly just us surrounded by stacks of paper and ledger books. We don’t really go for the modern look. It’s more about having a space where we can sit down and talk to the people we do business with. Most of our day is spent coordinating deliveries and making sure the numbers add up. Sometimes the lights flicker when the rain is heavy, but we just keep working. It is a very hands-on kind of job. We don’t have fancy marketing people or anything like that. It’s just us doing the daily grind. We know the other shopkeepers around here pretty well, and we often share tea or talk about how the market is moving. It’s a simple life, really. We come in early, do what needs to be done, and try to get home before the traffic gets too bad. That is just how we operate. We don't plan on changing much. It’s a bit dusty, but it’s our spot.
