Jibreel Fabrication

If you know the Govandi area, you probably know how crowded and busy things can get around Shivaji Nagar. Our workshop is at Plot Number 5, and we are specifically in Room Number 1 along Line M. It is a small space, but it serves us well for the fabrication work we do every day. Every morning we roll up the door and start going through the metal sheets and rods we have lined up for the day’s orders. Fabrication is noisy and messy work, so there is usually the sound of a grinder or the light of welding sparks coming from our corner. We don’t have a fancy office or a place to sit and have meetings; it’s just the room where all the work happens. The people living and working nearby know us because we have been in this spot for a while now. Sometimes a neighbor stops by to ask if we can fix a broken hinge or weld a small piece of a gate back together. We take on all sorts of jobs, from big metal structures to these little repairs. The street outside can get really packed with people and bikes, so moving materials in and out of the shop requires some patience. We usually keep the entrance open just to get a bit of air while we are working. It is dusty and the noise never really stops, but that is just life in Govandi. We just keep our focus on the metal.
