Our shop is right in the Metro House building, which most people know because of the Metro Cinema at Dhobi Talao. It is a very old part of Mumbai and the building itself has a lot of character. We are at number 5, and we’ve been here through a lot of changes in the city. The space is filled with glass cases and wooden shelves. We deal with silver items, trophies, and various gift pieces. It’s not the kind of place that looks like a modern mall store. It has a bit of an old-world feel, with slightly dim lighting and a heavy front door. We get a lot of regular customers who have been coming to us for decades, sometimes bringing their children or grandchildren in. The street outside is always full of traffic and noise, but inside it stays relatively calm. We spend a lot of time polishing the silver and making sure everything looks decent for the customers. It’s a lot of manual work and paying attention to small details. Sometimes the air conditioning struggles a bit when the afternoon sun hits the windows, but we get by. We don’t do much advertising; we just rely on people knowing where we are and what we do. It’s a family-run kind of atmosphere, and we just like being here every day for the people who visit. We've seen the city grow up around us while we stayed pretty much the same.
