Our office is in the Engineer Building, specifically Room No. 35 on the second floor. The address is 288 S.B. Singh Marg, and that’s where Jet Clearing Forwarding & Shipping Agents does its business. We’ve been here for a long time, and the building has that old-school Mumbai feel to it. Our job is mostly about clearing goods through customs and forwarding them to wherever they need to go next. It’s a lot of legwork. We spend plenty of time at the docks or at various government offices, waiting for stamps and signatures. It’s not always the most exciting work, but it’s necessary if you want to move things across borders. We aren't a big, polished firm with a lot of layers. If you call, you’ll probably talk to one of the same three or four people who have been here for years. We don't use much jargon or try to sound more important than we are. We just know the rules and how to get things through the system. Sometimes the customs guys are tough, or the paperwork gets caught in a loop, but we just keep pushing until it’s done.
