We are out in Manor, Maharashtra, which is a bit of a distance from the main city buzz of Mumbai. Being in the 400 064 area means we’re part of a spot that isn't quite as cramped as the downtown neighborhoods. The Jerry Varghese Int. Ltd. office here is a pretty modest setup. It’s a functional building where we keep all our records and handle the daily tasks. It’s not the kind of place with a glass front or a fancy lobby. We just have a few rooms with sturdy desks and a lot of filing cabinets. The weather out here can get really hot, so the fans are always spinning at full speed to keep us cool. People in the area know us as just another local business. We don't spend much on decorating the place because we’re usually too busy talking to people and managing the paperwork. There’s a certain pace to life in Manor that’s different from the center of Mumbai, and we’ve grown used to it. The office feels lived-in, with stacks of paper and the occasional hum of the old air conditioner. It’s just a practical space for us to do our work without any unnecessary distractions. We’ve been here long enough that the building feels like a second home to the staff who come in every morning to get through the day’s load of work.
