Jerlin Arts

We are located at 13 Dharavi, right near the T Junction. It is a very busy part of the city and there is always noise from the street coming into the workshop. We do art and craft work here, which means our hands are usually dirty with paint or glue. The space is crowded with materials and half-finished pieces that we are working on. We don't have a showroom or a fancy display; everything is just stacked up where there is room. Being near the T Junction means everyone passes by us at some point during the day. We have been in this spot in Dharavi for quite a while now. Most of our work is done on small benches under bright lights. It gets very hot in the afternoons, but we just keep working through it. We make things for local shops and sometimes for people who just walk in off the street. There is no corporate structure here, just a few of us making things day after day. You might see us sitting outside on the step when we take a break because the inside is so full of stuff. We use whatever tools we have to get the job done. It is a simple life of making things and hoping the weather stays clear so we can dry our materials outside near the road. We are usually here from early morning until the street lights come on.
