Jayshree Metal Industries

We’re over at 14, Shree Guppi Hariya Ind. Estate on Saki Vihar Road. That’s in Andheri East, so it’s always a bit of a scramble with the traffic outside. Jayshree Metal Industries is a small operation, but we stay busy. The workshop is packed with machinery and raw materials. It’s loud and it gets pretty warm in the afternoons, especially when the sun hits the roof. We spend most of our time out on the floor rather than in the office. There’s always something to cut or shape. Saki Vihar Road is a hectic place to work, but it’s convenient for getting things moved around. Our unit, number 14, is tucked inside the estate. It’s not fancy at all. We have grease on our hands most of the time. We don't use big words to describe what we do. It’s just metal work. Some days things go smoothly, and other days a machine breaks down and we spend the whole afternoon fixing it. That’s just life here. We’ve been at this for a while now. Most people around Andheri East know the industrial estates are where the real work happens. We’re just one of many shops trying to get through the day's tasks. If you come by, you'll probably hear us before you see us. Jayshree Metal Industries is just a basic, hardworking shop. We have a small corner for drinking water and taking a quick break when the heat gets to be too much.
