The area is always buzzing with people and vehicles, especially in the evenings. Our shop isn't very large, so we have to use every bit of shelf space we have. We sell mostly footwear and related items. It’s a bit cramped inside when we get more than two or three customers at once. The walls are lined with boxes from the floor to the ceiling. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything like that. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait for the regulars to stop by. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the door during the monsoon, so we have to keep moving the stock around. It’s a bit of a struggle sometimes, but that’s just how it goes with a small business in Mumbai. We know most of the people who walk past our door every day. The tea guy comes by twice a day and we usually take a break then. We don't have a fancy mission statement or corporate goals. We just want to sell good shoes and make enough to keep the shop running. It’s a practical way to live and we are happy enough with how things are going in our little corner.
