Janata Welding Works

My shop is located over in Malad West. It stays pretty noisy most of the day because of the machines and the sparks flying around. We do basic welding work mostly. We make things like iron gates, window grills, and other small items that people need for their houses. The floor is usually covered in metal scraps and black dust. It is hard work and your hands get dirty within the first hour of opening up. I have been doing this for a long time now. People bring in broken chairs or some random iron pieces that need fixing. We take the orders and try to get them done by the weekend if we are not too backed up with work. The welding masks are heavy but you eventually get used to them. Malad West has changed a lot since I first started, but people still need metal work done. Sometimes the electricity acts up and the welding machine will not start at all. Then we just have to sit on the bench and wait. It is not a big factory, just a local spot for small jobs. We use hammers and the torch every single day. If someone needs a simple repair, they just walk in and show us what is wrong. We do not talk much while working because of the noise from the grinders. The tea guy comes around twice a day and we take a short break then. It is a living.
