Jagdamba Steel Art

Jagdamba Steel Art is our little place at Shop No. 1 in Mohammed Umer Chawl. We are located on Laxman Mhatre Road in Kandarpada, which is part of Dahisar. If you find the Blue Park Hotel, we are right nearby. It’s a busy little corner of the world. We do a lot of decorative steel work, which is why we have "Art" in our name, though mostly it’s just practical stuff like railings and grills that also look a bit nice. The shop is small and can get quite hot when the welding machines are running. We have been in Dahisar for years and know most of the people on Laxman Mhatre Road. It’s a friendly enough area. We don’t have a big marketing budget or anything. Most people just see our work at a neighbor’s house and ask who did it. We use basic tools and our hands to get the shapes right. Sometimes a piece doesn't come out perfectly the first time, so we fix it until it’s right. We aren't a big factory; it's just a few of us working in the chawl. There is usually some scrap metal in the corner and the smell of burnt metal in the air. We keep a pot of tea going most of the day to keep us going. If you need some steel work done and you're in Kandarpada, you can just drop by and see us. We’re usually there from morning until late evening, just working away on whatever order came in.
