Working out of the MSEB Staff Quarters on R.C. Marg feels very grounded. It’s an old-school area of Mumbai. The building has that classic look you see in government housing, and we occupy a section of it. It’s not the kind of place with a shiny sign or a revolving door. You just walk in and see the desks and the files piled up. Ispat Industries Ltd has a presence here because it’s close to the heart of the industrial activity along the road. The traffic on R.C. Marg is almost always loud, but you get used to the sound of trucks and buses after a week or two. Our office space is simple. We have the basic fans and some old wooden furniture that has seen a lot of years. It’s functional. We don't spend money on decorations because that isn't why we are here. Most of the people working in this branch have been around for a long time. We know the local chai wallah by name. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, but we just wait it out or work on the paper logs. It’s a very straightforward environment. No one is trying to impress anyone with big words or fancy presentations. We just handle the logistics and the accounts as they come in. It’s just another day in Chembur for us. We keep it simple and get the job done without much fuss.
