Our office is up on the 7th floor of the Nirmal building, which is right in the middle of Nariman Point. It’s a busy area and finding parking is always a headache for anyone coming to visit. From the windows, you can see a bit of the city, which is nice when things get stressful. We’ve been in this spot for a good while, handling the various aspects of the steel trade. It’s mostly desks, computers, and a lot of coffee being drank throughout the day. People are always rushing around in the hallways outside, but inside we try to keep a steady pace. We deal with a lot of different suppliers and clients, so the phones are almost never silent. Sometimes the air conditioning is too cold, and other times it barely works, but that’s just how it goes in these older high-rises. We aren't really the type for big meetings with lots of charts; we prefer to just talk through things and get the work sorted out. Being near the water means it can get a bit humid, but the breeze is good in the evenings. It’s a professional enough space, I suppose, but we keep it pretty casual among ourselves. Most of us take the train in, so we’re always keeping an eye on the clock when the workday starts to wrap up. It’s just a regular office doing regular business in a very busy part of Mumbai where things never really seem to stop or slow down much.
