Ispat Group

Our office is located in the Nirmal building on the 7th floor, right in Nariman Point. Ispat Group has been here for quite some time. Being in Nariman Point means we are right in the middle of all the city's business action. The view from the 7th floor is okay, but we spend most of our time looking at spreadsheets and contracts. We deal with steel and related industries on a pretty large scale. It’s a lot of meetings and phone calls throughout the day. The office is busy, and there is always someone coming or going. We don't really do the "corporate culture" thing you see in movies. We just have work that needs to get done. The commute can be a bit of a grind, but that’s Mumbai for you. We have a lot of files and old records in the back room. It’s not always perfectly tidy, but we know where everything is. We don't put out a lot of promotional material because our work usually speaks for itself through the projects we handle. It's a professional environment but it's not stiff. We talk about the cricket scores while we wait for the kettle to boil. It’s just a group of people working in the steel sector, trying to keep things moving forward. We've seen a lot of companies come and go from this building but we've managed to stay put and keep our operation running year after year without any big drama.
