Iqra International School

Iqra International School is tucked away at Plot No. 202 in the Atlas Mill Compound, right near the Reay Road Station. It’s an interesting spot because of the old industrial feel of the Barister Nath Pai Marg area. You have to walk through the compound to find us, past some other businesses and warehouses, which makes it feel a bit hidden from the main road traffic. The building itself is practical and we’ve done our best to make the classrooms comfortable for the students. Being so close to the station means we hear the trains go by quite often, but you get used to that sound after a few days. The classrooms are simple with whiteboards and desks, and we try to keep things as tidy as possible despite the dust that comes with being in an old mill area. During the breaks, the kids find space to play where they can, and the hallways get pretty crowded with everyone moving at once. It’s a bit of a walk from the main gate, so everyone gets their exercise in. We don’t have much in the way of fancy decorations, just the work the students do and the basic stuff needed for lessons. It feels like a small community inside a very large, busy city. We just show up, get the teaching done, and deal with the heat and the noise as they come throughout the week.
