Infomedia Battery

Over on Link Road in Dadar West, we have Infomedia Battery. It is a fairly small shop but we keep a lot of stock. Batteries are heavy things, so our days involve a lot of lifting and moving crates. The shop stays quite cool because of the way the building is shaded, which is nice when the sun is out. We have shelves lined with all different sizes of batteries for cars and other uses. The air has that specific metallic smell you get in battery shops. We spend a lot of time testing units and charging them up on the benches in the back. Link Road is always buzzing with cars and people, so there is never a quiet moment. We don't have a fancy waiting area for customers. Most people just stand by the counter while we check their old battery. It’s a simple setup with a couple of chairs and a desk that’s seen better days. We write our receipts by hand most of the time. Sometimes the rain leaks in a little near the front door during the monsoon, so we have to keep the stock away from that corner. It’s just me and a couple of others working here. We know the regulars who come in from the neighborhood. We just do our work and keep the shop running. We keep the floor swept, but it's hard to keep it clean with all the heavy foot traffic.
