Indian Classical Dance Academy

We teach classes over at 19 Diamond Apartment in the Kalewadi area of Bandra West. It’s near Mount Mary, which is a really nice part of the neighborhood to be in. The Indian Classical Dance Academy isn't some big shiny studio with mirrors on every single wall. It’s a more personal space where we get together to practice and learn the steps. We’ve been using this apartment for a while now because it has a good feel to it. You can hear the sounds of the street sometimes, but once the music starts, we don't notice it much. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who really care about the dance and want to share it with anyone who wants to learn. It’s pretty informal here. We usually just tell people to show up and be ready to work hard. Bandra West is a busy place, so getting here can be a bit of a trek if the traffic is bad, but most of our students live nearby anyway. We don't spend money on fancy brochures or big ads. Word of mouth is usually how people find us. It’s just a simple place for dance. We keep the floor clean and the lights on, and that’s about it. If you want to learn classical dance in a relaxed, local setting, this is where we are. We have been here for years now and really enjoy the community around Mount Mary.
