Image Workshop

We’ve been here at Shop 130 in Heera Panna for quite some time now. Worli is always a bit noisy outside, but inside the shop, things are usually focused on whatever project is sitting on the counter. People stop by after seeing the sign from the street or just because they live nearby and need something done. It’s not a very big place, just enough room for the gear and a couple of stools for folks to sit on while we talk through what they need. Some days the air conditioner struggles with the Mumbai heat, but we keep the door shut and just get on with it. Image Workshop isn't fancy. There are stacks of papers and some old frames leaning against the back wall, but that’s just how it looks when you’re actually working every day. Most of our regulars know the shortcut through the mall corridors to find us quickly. We usually have the radio playing something quiet in the background, mostly just to break the silence when we are concentrating. It’s a straightforward setup. You come in, tell us what you’re looking for, and we see if we can make it happen. Sometimes we’re busy with a big order, so there might be a bit of a wait, but nobody seems to mind much. We just try to keep things moving and make sure the work is decent before it goes out the door. It’s just us doing what we know how to do.
