I Bar

I Bar is located in Bandra West, and if you know the area, you know it never really stays quiet for long. We usually get in during the afternoon when the sun is still pretty hot. The first thing we do is check the inventory and see what we need to get for the night. The counter is the main part of the place, and we spend a lot of time just polishing it and making sure the stools are lined up. We don't have a corporate office or anything like that; we just run things from behind the bar. There’s a small space in the back where we keep the extra stock and the cleaning supplies. Sometimes the air conditioner makes a weird rattling noise, so we have to give it a tap to make it stop. The floor gets a lot of wear and tear, so it’s never perfectly shiny no matter how much we scrub it. We have a few regulars who come in as soon as we open the doors, and it’s nice to see familiar faces after a long day. The work is mostly about being on your feet and making sure the music isn’t too loud or too quiet. We don’t really do anything promotional; we just open up and wait for the people to show up. Bandra has a specific kind of vibe, and we just try to fit into it without making a fuss.
