Husain Tools Centre

Husain Tools Centre. Our place is at number 7 in Andheri East, over in Gobindpura Manimajra. Specifically, we are in Sawlaram Chawl, which is right opposite Sangeet Plaza. It’s a busy part of town. The chawl itself is old, and our shop is tucked in there with a lot of other small businesses. We handle all sorts of tools. Most of the time, the floor is covered in crates because we just got a delivery or we are trying to organize things. It’s not the cleanest place, but we know where everything is kept. If you are looking for Sangeet Plaza, you can’t miss us across the way. The noise from the street is pretty much constant, so you have to talk a bit louder when you’re inside. We’ve been here long enough that the front door squeaks every time someone walks in, but we never got around to oiling it. It’s just how the place is. We aren't trying to be fancy or look like a big mall store. We just have the stuff people need for their daily work. Some days are quiet and we just sit and drink tea, other days it’s one person after another. It’s a simple life running a tool shop in Andheri. We just take things as they come and try to keep the shelves stocked up. Sometimes we run out of something and have to wait for the supplier, but that’s just how things go around here. It keeps us on our toes.
