Hindustan Batteries

Hindustan Batteries is located right in Malad West, specifically in the 2nd Nadiadwala Colony on S V Road. We’ve been sitting here in the Chitnis Compound for a while now. Most days just involve us looking at battery testers and dealing with people whose cars won't start. It’s a lot of heavy lifting, to be honest. These batteries weigh quite a bit and the grease gets everywhere. The shop isn’t fancy at all. We have shelves stacked with different brands and sizes. Sometimes the monsoon makes things tricky because everyone’s battery seems to give up at the same time. You’ll find us here from the morning till late evening. Usually, there’s a bit of chai going around while we talk to the delivery guys. It’s a noisy spot because S V Road is always packed with traffic, but you get used to it. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know which terminal goes where. If you walk past the compound, you’ll likely see some old casings sitting out front. It’s just regular work for us, making sure someone can get back on the road without too much trouble. We don't spend much on decorations because the acid and dust would just ruin it anyway. It’s a practical place for practical needs. Most of our regulars are from the neighborhood, just people we see every week who know where to find us.
