Working out of a municipal chawl near Crawford Market has its own vibe. It’s noisy, crowded, and there is always something happening right outside our door on Sabu Siddik Road. We are at unit 4/14. If you know the area, you know where Carnac Bridge is. We are right there, basically opposite Chetan Hotel. It’s a handy spot if you’re already doing your shopping at the market or heading towards the station. The office is small and functional. We don’t have those glass walls or air conditioning that makes you freeze. It’s more about the paperwork and keeping things organized. Most days, you’ll find us buried under folders and ledger books. The location is the main thing here. People come in while they’re on their way to other errands. Being near the bridge means plenty of traffic, so we hear the honking all day long. It's just a part of the routine now. We’ve been at this spot for a good while, so the neighbors and the local shopkeepers know us. It isn't a corporate setup. We just do the work and handle the files that come across the desk. Sometimes it gets a bit tight in the office when a few people show up at once to drop off their documents, but we manage somehow. Just a local place for local needs, really. We try to stay on top of the dates and the deadlines without too much fuss. There is always a lot of tea and plenty of talk.
