Golden Tips & Khocha Tea

Our setup for Golden Tips & Khocha Tea is tucked away in the Islami Building over at Jacob Circle. To find us, you have to head to the third floor, Room No.2. It’s right by Dhobi Ghat, which is always a busy and loud place to be. We share the space with C O Ebrahim Kachwala. Being on the third floor means we carry a lot of things up and down the stairs, which keeps us fit, I suppose. The building is one of those older ones with thick walls and narrow hallways. Inside our room, we have our tea samples and all our paperwork spread out. It’s not a large office, but it’s ours. We spend a lot of time talking on the phone and checking the quality of the tea we get in. Jacob Circle is a central spot, so it’s easy for people to reach us, even if the stairs are a bit of a climb. We aren't interested in making things look like a corporate headquarters. We just want a place where we can do our work and keep our tea stored safely. Sometimes the wind blows the smell from the laundry area nearby, and it’s a strange mix with the scent of the tea leaves. We’ve gotten used to it over the years. We just keep things moving, handling one order at a time. It’s a practical way to run a business in a city like this.
