Global Metal Trade Corporation is tucked away in Girgaon East. Specifically, we are in Office No. 26A on Plot No 150C inside the Copper Compound. It’s on 6th Kumbharwada Lane, which is quite narrow and can be tricky for big vehicles to navigate. We are near the Alankar Cinema, a place everyone around here knows. Our office is a busy little space. There are usually stacks of papers and samples of different metals lying around on the desks. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to suppliers or coordinating where the next load is going. It’s not a quiet place because the lane outside is always full of activity and noise. We deal in various types of metal trading. It’s more about the paperwork and the deals than the actual heavy lifting here in the office, though we go out to the yards often. The air in Kumbharwada is always thick with the smell of industry and old buildings. We’ve been operating from this compound for a while now. It’s a bit of a squeeze getting to our door, but once you’re inside, it’s just us working through the daily tasks. We don’t have a fancy lobby or anything. People just walk in and we start talking business right away. It’s a practical way to run things in this part of the city for us. We’ve been here a long time and seen how much the area around Alankar Cinema has changed over the years, though our work stays mostly the same.
